EYE Y U NO RECOVER QUICKLY?

Hello there.

It has been a few weeks since I last written here, and the reason of not updating is - I was suffering from the blank post syndrome. And there is another thing, if you are following me in twitter, you might know that my right eye was also infected with stye since the eve of Chinese New Year, so I was basically very much out of the pictures.

I know right. That was shucks! I consider myself unlucky, as of ALL time, WHYYY the eve of CNY?! Which was also the day I flew to Japan. This made me really depressed and I almost lost the mood on my way to Japan. But then my happy meter totally cheered up when I was there, as I was overwhelmed by how interesting and advanced the place is. It is indeed an eye opening trip filled with lots of firsts, and I really wish to go back there again to explore more of that amazing place. Okay back to topic, so my immediate solution to taking pictures was the shades, although I truly dislike wearing it, because it made me felt like my world got dimmer. No choice, so I just have to #dealwithit. Not forgetting that I can neither apply make up nor wear contact lens, so these days are just my naked face and I.

Then..my right eye got worse during my 3rd day in Japan, as the lump on my eye-lid increases in size, which means more to cover and looking more hideous, so I was being..

But thank god after that night, my right eye was recovering bit by bit, and of now it's about 80% recovered. So, I started to get back in taking pictures, with..one-eye covered.

JUSSTTT..can't wait till my right eye completely healed! So I can be all out and about, and behaving comfortably in front of people. Haha yeah.

Hello there!

So how's your CNY preparation doing?

Basically, what I did for CNY prep was the same ol' girly stuffs, facials, got my eyebrow trimmed, hair dye and a little shopping. Most of my CNY shopping was done in HK and Bangkok, so I didn't do much shopping here in KL. The tradition of CNY is to wear new clothes in red on the first day of CNY, but I'm pretty sure everyone has at least 3-4 new outfits ready to be flaunt during the first few days of CNY. :)

What will I be doing for the CNY is also the as usual, going for a holiday! Hence I didn't really bother about coordinating summer-wear outfit here, but the winter! ;) To be honest, I also haven't had reunion dinner for the past few years already. I know right, that's like best times during CNY. And I really kinda miss that moment! :3 Le sigh, I will also have less angpows to collect. But on the other hand, I'm also extremely looking forward to the trip, hopefully it's gonna be a fruitful one. :)

The Comeback

For the past few days, I've been thinking of what to blog. I understand it feels sucks to visit a blog that doesn't update, and no one likes a dull and boring blog. I totally admire the effort of how often most bloggers update their blog, this is not something easy at all. I wish to get back to this phase of my life, where blogging is part of my daily routine. Well, it may not be a daily activity, but I just want to keep this space constantly updated, at least twice or thrice weekly.

If you ever wondered why did I come back to the blogging scene, one of the significant reasons is all thanks to Sean Chee! It happened randomly one day when I was having lunch with him, I asked him about ways to deal with breakups. One of the solutions he suggested was to make blogging as a hobby, so most of my free time will be occupied with updating the blog. He also emphasized that blogging leads me to be someone more outgoing, so that I will go out more often then have more topics to blog about. The next thing he said to me was to get a new camera, as long as it's more petite than the one I'm currently using. Yes, I took his words seriously and I blogged the next few days (which was the New Year's post). I also did research for compact cameras that are within my budget. I thought this comeback was also perfect in timing, as my graphic designer, Kim had my layout awesomely done and ready for me! ;)

Truth be told, blogging is nothing strange to me. It used to be a priority in my life back then since I was 15, but as I grew older blogging was no longer a habit I practiced. I've lost the blogging mojo and part of it was due to time constraints, but I thought those are just excuses. I'd see people manage their blog really well though they are already in the working society. So why not I make a comeback and that wouldn't be difficult, as I didn't leave blogging that long! NOW I wish to seek the inspiration that gives me the drive in continuing writing my blog!

If I ever stopped in blogging (again) in the future, I hope this post would be meaningful to keep me motivated in blogging. I just think hazeleyeshoney will serve as a diary and a platform where I can always read back all the words that I've written. I always think all the memories we had in our mind will be replaced by new memories from time to time, as our heads don't have the sufficient capacity to fit all the memories right! Oh well, how I wished I had the capability to remember things effortlessly!

Shopping in Hong Kong

During my visit to Hong Kong last month, I discovered a few new places to shop, so I decided to share with you, simply because sharing is caring. :3 If you are traveling to HK soon and are still wondering where to shop, this might come in handy for you. :)

Apart from Australia, HK is the other country I frequently travel to. I was totally excited for this trip, as I get to plan my own itinerary throughout my 6 days 5 nights there. I get to go to places I've always wanted to go and the major mission - to eat ALL the local delicacies! Well, it may not be ALL, but at least I get to satisfy my cravings! :3

To begin with, Shopping in HK depends on what kind of shopper you are. I'm very much a budget shopper, and at times I'd like branded items when they are within my budget.

Outlet Shopping

#1 Citygate Outlet

If you love designer labels/branded goods, you'll probably want to go to Citygate Outlet located adjacent to Tung Chung MTR station. Citygate houses more than 80 international brands and is the first outlet mall in HK. Overall, it's worth paying a visit if you're hunting for off-season slashed price branded goods! In my opinion, do not expect outrageous savings, and most of the items might only left with odd sizes. Try your luck, you might walk out from the mall with a surprise, surprise!

Direction: Take a MTR to Tung Chung Station (Last station of Orange Line) - Exit at C
Must-Go Stores: Coach, Kate Spade & I.T

FYI, Citygate is only a stone throw away from the cable car station to Ngong Ping 360, which is the Buddha Statue.

#2 Prada Space Outlet

A must-go place for Prada and Miu Miu lovers! All items in store are 35% off original price. Prada Space Outlet has a wide range of items to offer comprises brands of Prada, Prada Sports and Miu Miu. This outlet is rather strangely located at Marina Square right next to a market in the residential area estate - Ap Lei Chau, HK Island. I was so shocked to see a luxury brand store situates next to a market, as in a WET market.

Direction: Take the City Bus 590 from Central (Exchange Square) to Ap Lei Chau Bus Terminal, which is from the first to last stop, so you don't have to fear alighting at the wrong stop!

If you have time, take a cab ride to Horizon Plaza, which is 3-5 min away. Horizon Plaza is also an outlet mall. You can find brands such as Juicy Couture, Club Monaco, I.T and others.

Cheap Shopping

#3 Argyle Centre

This is more like a Sg Wang in HK, or maybe worse than that, as Argyle Centre is always swarmed with people. It is located at Argyle Street in Mongkok, it's definitely not difficult to navigate to this mall. Not all shops are cheap though, but you'd get some really good bargains here! Some shops are selling clothes that are always seen in Vivi Mag that we don't usually get in KL. In fact most of my loots from this trip are sourced from here!

Direction: Take a MTR to Mongkok (Red or Green Line) - Exit at D2

#4 Kwai Chung Plaza

If you are a bargain hunter or you just want to dig for cheap clothes, Kwai Chung Plaza is strongly recommended. Thanks to Bow, or else I wouldn't have known the existence of Kwai Chung Plaza. According to her, this is where the local shops at. Hence, clothes selling here are generally cheaper compared to Argyle Centre. I would say the designs here are not as nice as in Argyle Centre, but it'd be a great place for budget shoppers. I did end up getting a few really awesome clothes here!

Direction: Take a MTR to Kwai Fong Station (Red Line). Kwai Chung Plaza is just next to the station.

#5 Fa Yuen Street, Prince Edward.

If you are aware of news in HK, you might came across the news about Fa Yuen Street caught on fire during end of November, which causes 9 deaths and more than 100 injuries. I went there and passed by the affected area, it was BADLY destroyed.

However, you can still shop at stalls and shops that were unaffected.

These are just for reference purposes and it's mainly my suggestion. However, if you are looking for designer brands, do head to IFC Mall at Central (国际金融中心商场, 中环), or Harbour City, Canton Road at Tsim Sha Tsui (海港城, 广东道, 尖沙咀). H&M outlets are available in major shopping districts. On the other hand, beauty products can be hauled from Sasa, Colourmix and Bonjour! And yes, definitely cheaper than KL! :D

First of all, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

When it comes to new year, it's my favourite time to blog. At least I have an excuse to blog something, like what any other blogger does, because that's the way! I guess it's the same for everyone, one of our new year's resolutions is to..

LEAVE ALL THE BAD MEMORIES BEHIND, AND USHER IN THE NEW YEAR WITH NEW HOPES!

To be honest, this is not something easy, but I'd review the bad memories as a lesson. And the good memories are of course to be remember and reminisce of in the future :'). This is also a time to reflect whatever you've done right and wrong for the past one year, and hopefully improving to a better person! As of now, I'm listing down whatever memories/times/events I think that are worth to be shared and jotted down for the past 365 days.

#1 January '11, I worked full time for a month at Dr. Kong, TCM. There's where I discovered there are actually people that are worse than unreasonable and illogical exist in this world. God is creative. With my so called hard-earned money, my salary has gone to a..Canon G12! In fact, I have a love and hate relationship with it.

#2 Besides Melbourne, I visited a few countries too. I went to Taiwan to celebrate CNY with my parents. I also traveled to UK with my mum for brother's convocation, and revisited London! That's where I watched 'Betty Blue Eyes' and 'Lend Me a Tenor' <3. I wish I will have the opportunity to watch a play in London again! We then went to Switzerland for a 5 days trip. Switzerland is the most expensive country I've been to throughout my life! Lastly I went to Hong Kong few weeks ago to explore more of that place and to visit my Hongkonger friend, Rainbow. (Don't call people from Hong Kong as Hongkie, according to Wikipedia it's an offensive term, which I wonder why.)

#3 Started to be a coffee freak and growing a whole lot of love for it. I do also have to limit my coffee intake, as high dosage of caffeine is extremely unhealthy. This is rather significant, as this is how Melbourne changed me, and I developed a new morning habit!

#4 Turned 21. In fact, age is just a figure, what actually matters is the contents in our mentality. But still, I dread getting older, as I'm still very vague what I want to see myself doing in the future, urrgh. Turning into the age of adulthood, this is no different, as I'm already well-prepared for it. I guess that's what studying abroad does, it made me a more independent person, and I also learned to step out of my comfort box.

Anyway thanks to my housemates who baked a cheesecake for me, I'm very touched indeed. :') And, my friends who celebrated with me. :')

#5 GAINED WEIGHT. T___T I'm writing this simply because my new year resolution is to LOSE WEIGHT TILL I CAN FIT SIZE 6. Yes, challenge accepted.

That's all I could think of at the moment. I had a pretty simple 2011, and it marks my 3rd year being away from home. This is something I'm proud of myself, as I can't even begin to tell you how much I've grown. I think what has made me grow the most is the amount of effort I've put to take the leap!

Lastly, I would like to wish my family and friends to have a happy 2012, even better than before! May 2012 be blessed with lots of joy and good health! To my friends who've graduated, I hope that you get a job asap and be successful in your career! Last but not least, I MUST graduate without any obstacles!

I'm pretty sure most of you had that moment where you feel motivated to study, but the next minute..not even finish reading the first page of your notes, you started feeling sleepy. Yes, here I am, at this point, but instead of allowing myself to lie on the bed, I decided to blog. :)

So, my 2-weeks-break is coming to an end and back to the final few weeks of the semester. I can't help emphasizing how time speeds throughout the year, and we're already at the last few months approaching 2012. OH WELL. =]

I wouldn't say my holiday was well spent, as the due date of my report falls during the holiday so I had to rush up my report at the end of the first week of holiday, BSc students are pathetic! ;( Then went to a few road trips, had some me-time, and there goes my holiday!

Ending this post with a candid shot of myself in the Tulip Farm. ;) Well, if you wonder where did my previous entries gone to, I just moved them to a private blog, and my blogskin is working in progress, hopefully it won't take long, as I'm still getting inspiration how my new blogskin should be. :)
